Foreign Investment Council and the real estate development company GTC organized, in “GTC House” office building, a debate the topic of which was ”Real Estate Market and Construction in Serbia”. The participants shared their views on the subject and their suggestions on how to overcome the existing problems.

The speakers at the assembly were the
- Minister of International Economic Relations of the Government of Serbia Milan Parivodic,
- State Secretary for International Economic Relations of the Republic of Serbia, Vlatko Sekulovic,
- President of the Foreign Investment Council Mike Ahern,
- Head of the Members Of the Board of the Foreign Investment Council Vladimir Mrvic
- Managing Director of GTC International for Serbia and Montenegro Robert Snow.

The organizers and the participants of the assembly agreed that Serbia and Belgrade are extremely attractive for the real estate investments, but also that the foreign investors are facing numerous difficulties, which should be handled as soon as possible. According to the president of the Foreign Investment Council Mike Ahern, the restricting factors for the bigger investment flow when it comes to construction is, first of all, a problem of building land ownership but also the non-existence of the restitution law and an extremely complicated bureaucracy.

The most successful foreign company for the development of real estate which is at the moment active in New Belgrade is GTC, whose project were presented to the people present by the general manager of GTC International for Serbia and Montenegro Robert Snow. He pointed out that, in spite of the challenges which he faces daily on this market, he is satisfied with the cooperation with the governmental and municipal authorities. However, he also pointed out that the state should deal with the property-rights relations in order to allow the bigger inflow of foreign investments into construction, in which there is a big interest.
